I absolutely love this. I have also made rash promises, but the elephants came to my rescue. Sadly you cannot rely on Hapoor to deliver anymore.

Thank-you Helen. Yesterday, we saw only one elephant at Hapoor - it is really looking like a construction site at the moment. We did however, see elephants at other locations, but none of the usual waterholes.

Hi Steve, it was rewarding for me to read this because I remember that trip taken by Angie and Mike. She had also received worrying news about the impending birth of her twin grand-daughters, who are now happy healthy teenagers. So all's well that ends well.........

I’m surprised you didn’t see turtles on that first trip. We always see them when we go now. Our first visit to AEP only ever yielded an elephant backside disappearing into the thickets in the distance. Disappointed. But more recent trips have been amazing for ellie viewing.

It is interesting how you learn where you can expect to find certain animals. The learning doesn't always work, but it certainly improves your chances. About the turtles, I've noticed that we don't always pay attention to them - they're sort of low profile and easily be missed.

Thank-you Steve, it was an absolutely wonderful experience (and a little scary at times) - more than made up for the lack of elephants 16 years ago!
